I have always had an aspiration to be a photographer, its principal simplicity, to capture an image, a moment in time, has been something that fascinated me.

As a Licentiate member of the Royal Photographic Society, my enjoyment of photography has grown, and taken on wider genres of images and to appreciate good images. Being blessed to live in South Africa, going to the ‘bush’ to take pictures of the spectacular wildlife has not taken over from sports. such as surfing and rugby. There are images everywhere, waiting to be captured or constructed as family groups and portraits, both spontaneous and planned.

I’m always happy to respond to a client’s needs for a ‘certain picture request’ which always starts well before either they, or their subjects gets to stand in front of a lens. As much as a good photography is a spontaneous moment, equally a well-crafted photograph takes so preparation to maximise that moment in time. This then becomes the story of the picture.
